What is the Difference between Standard Ball Wireless Optical and Laser Mouse
Mouse is undoubtedly, one of the key accessories of a computer. Without a mouse, we cannot perform any task on our computer screen, easily. Previously, mouse was just a device connected with CPU via wire and allows the visibility of a cursor on our computer screen through which we can operate the whole system of computer. By keeping so much importance of mouse in their mind, technologists have made some key amendments in the design and functions of mouse. Standard, Ball, Wireless, Optical and Laser Mouse are the names of different types of computer mouse and here is their description.
Standard Mouse
Standard mouse is that pointing device that firstly makes a contact with any supporting surface and performs its function under the user hand by sensing two dimensional motions. The standard mouse is a wired mouse with two buttons and 2-3 external wheels as well.
Ball Mouse
Ball mouse is a mechanical mouse in which external wheels are replaced with a small rotating ball that can move in any direction. In the ball mouse, the body of ball comes in the route of light beam and motion of ball is transferred on the display in the form of cursor movement.
Wireless Mouse
Another latest type of mouse is wireless or cordless mouse in which connection of mouse with computer is made possible by means of Bluetooth or Infrared radiations. The receiver of these radiations that come from mouse is connected with computer in any USB port and this is a very pretty way of performing task on computer without disturbance of wires.
Optical Mouse
In an optical mouse, again there is no wire, but there is one or more light emitting diodes that are used for data transmission and to detect movement relative surface, photodiodes are used.
Laser Mouse
Laser mouse is a type of optical mouse in which laser or coherent light is used as data transmission medium, but photodiodes are working in same manner as in all optical mouse.
Standard vs Ball vs Wireless vs Optical and Laser Mouse
Both standard and ball mouse are wired or corded mouse, but in standard mouse external wheels are used for providing movement to cursor on the display in contrast to ball mouse, in which ball is doing this working. In ordinary wireless mouse, infrared or Bluetooth mechanism is used for transferring motion of mouse on the monitor screen. In case of optical mouse, there are LED light emitting diodes that are working for transmission of data in contrast to laser mouse, in which laser light is used instead of LED.
