What is the Difference between MRI CT Scan Mammogram Ultrasound and Sonogram
When we got infected by any internal problem in any part of body, we need some internal examination to diagnose it. Today, medical science has made much progress and many weird methodologies have been evolved to examine the internal body problem deeply. MRI, CT-Scan, Mammogram, Ultrasound and Sonogram are the names of some modern tests that are applied for internal examination.
MRI
To examine thorough internal structure, a medical imaging technique named as MRI or Magnetic Resonance Imaging is used. this technique is based upon nuclear magnetic resonance property and takes the images of atoms present in the body.
CT Scan
The components of CT scan test are X-ray machine and a computer. BY CT Scan, a radiologist takes the cross-sectional images of body to examine the internal structure. The parts of human body that are mostly checked by this test are spine, brain, neck, pelvis, chest, sinuses and abdomen.
Mammography
Mammography is a screening and diagnostic tool that is used to analyze women breast with relatively low energy X-Rays having intensity not more than 30 KVp. This test is commonly recommended for recognition of breast cancer at early stage.
Ultrasound
Sound waves having intensity level beyond our ear’s capacity are used in ultrasound technique. Today, the area of using ultrasound is not a human body, but this technique is also used to detect any illegal thing in planes, cars etc. In fact, this is a form of ultra sound pressure having frequency more than upper limit of human hearing capacity. Today, the use of ultrasound has become much more for pregnant woman to see the condition of baby inside.
Sonogram
Sonogram is the advanced form of Ultrasound and is used to take the images under the surface of human skin. More will the intensity of sound waves, more deeper detection is possible. This is the safest method than for examining the inside of human body.
MRI vs CT-Scan vs Mammogram vs Ultrasound vs Sonogram
By means of CT Scan, we cannot the ligaments and tendons in human body, but with MRI it is possible now. To locate the cancer in human body, MRI is more powerful tool as compared to ultrasound and mammography. Similarly, in ultrasound, high intensity sound waves are used that could be dangerous for human body, while its safest form is called Sonogram.
