What is the Difference between Exfat, Hfs, Ext3, Wbfs, Fat32 and Ntfs
There are many file systems in the window operating system and other operating systems that are universal to support different files that we open and work on, in our systems. These file systems can be divided for different categories of files. Like images have a different class of supported file system then the text documents. Videos have a different files system support then audios. Some of these are installed with the operating system while others are installed with the installation of program. Almost every file system is supported in all the published and used operating systems.
Exfat
Exfat is short of extended file allocation table. The file system fat64 is often called exfat. It is a file system that is specially designed for USB drives. Microsoft development exfat runs from windows xp to onward.
Hfs
Hierarchical file system or hfs is created by apple for its operating systems and program supporting applications.
Ext3
Ext3 or third extended file system is a file system used by the linux kernel. This is a default file system in linux for many applications and popular linux distributions.
Wbfs
Wbfs or wii backup file system is also a file system for support to the files. It creates partition of SD and USB drive. After this partition is created, any file that supports this system is saved on the partition like games etc.
Fat 32
File allocation table or fat is the file system supported by the windows operating systems. It supports file structures on windows and other desk spaces.
Ntfs
Ntfs short of new technology file system was created for Windows NT and now it is supported by all the later windows versions. It improves desk space utilization, better metadata performance and storage and protection form infectious files.
Exfat vs Hfs vs Ext3 vs Wbfs vs Fat32 vs Ntfs
ntfs, fat32 and exfat are created by Microsoft. These are the files systems supported on Windows NT, wndows xp and above. Wbfs is the file system that specifically supports the files extensions wbfs by creating separate partitions on the desk. Ext3 is created by linux while hfs is created by apple.
