What is the Difference between Total Eclipse, Lunar Eclipse and Solar Eclipse
Universe is really vast, more than the human imagination. Our solar system is a very small part of a great galaxy. Sun and moon are very important, when we talk with the reference of our planet earth. Sun is the source of natural light and energy. While moon is another heavenly body, which we can see from earth. Eclipse is a common term which we usually hear with reference to the moon, sun and earth. Eclipse, Lunar Eclipse and solar eclipse are different terms and here we are discussing difference between them.
Total Eclipse
When an Astronomical object is temporarily covered, it is called as Eclipse or total Eclipse. It can be due to the shadow of another body or if another body comes in between the object and the viewer.
Luner Eclipse
During its rotation, when earth takes such a position that sun rays cannot reach to the surface of moon and moon is covered in the shadow of earth, this condition is called as Luner Eclipse. It occurs only, when moon is full in size. The length of Luner eclipse varies with the rotation of moon.
Solar Eclipse
When moon passes between sun and earth and block sun rays to strike the surface of earth, it is called as solar eclipse. This happens during new moon only. Solar eclipses are usually partial but full eclipse can also occur twice a year.
Total Eclipse vs Lunar Eclipse vs Solar Eclipse
Total eclipse or eclips is the condition when one object blocks the view of other object. Luner eclipse and solar eclipse are two types of eclipse. In case of luner eclipse earth blocks the rays of sun to strike the surface of moon and in case of solar eclipse moon plays the role of blocking body and sun rays cannot reach to the earth. Solar eclipse can occur only during the new moon, while luner eclipse occurs when moon is full.
