What is the Difference between Tornado Watch and Warning
Tornado watch and tornado warning are the names of two commonly used terms in United States. In fact, these terms are a kind of alert, which are issued to offices of National weather Service to beware about the upcoming tornado and the source that issue these alerts is named as Storm prediction Center. This center is situated in Norman Oklahoma. The duration of these alerts is normally 6-10 hours that are predicted in advance. However, both alerts are different from each other in many ways.
Tornado Watch
When conditions become clear about the formation of a tornado, the Storm Prediction Center issues a tornado watch. You can also say a tornado watch as the indication of a severe thunderstorm, as only stern thunderstorm has ability of producing thunderstorm. This alert can be issued to predict the happening of heavy hail and destroying winds along with tornadoes.
Tornado Warning
No doubt, the aim of a tornado warning is also to alert the people about harsh thunderstorm with greater possibilities of tornado. However, a tornado warning is mostly issued after viewing the status of thunderstorm by the eye. Radar indications could also a be source of issuing tornado warning. Another feature of this type of alert rises in the form of tornado alarms to aware the people about coming danger. The aim of alarm is also to warn the people for leaving the affected area.
Tornado Watch vs Tornado Warning
The key difference between tornado watch and tornado warning is that, tornado watch is the siren on behalf of general conditions about expected tornado. While, tornado warning is done after watching the clear indications of tornado in any spotted area. Moreover, a tornado watch is just an alert of expected tornado in contrast to tornado warning that is based on actual conditions.
