What is the Difference between Climate and Weather
Normally, people use both terms “climate and weather” to discuss the condition of atmosphere. It has become a common concept that we can use both terms interchangeably. This concept is absolutely wrong, because both terms have much more differences between them. To clear this common confusion, here are some key differences between climate and weather.
Climate
Climate represents the atmospheric conditions of any particular place for a long span of time. Actually, scientists calculate the climatic condition of any particular place on the basis of previous records. Usually, they collect data regarding daily atmospheric conditions of about last 30 years and after that they claim the climate of that place warm and dry or cool and humid etc. The sudden changes in atmospheric conditions like from sunny to rainy day or vice versa, have no influence on climate.
Weather
Weather is the name of atmospheric conditions; belong to any specific area, for a short span of time. You can say that weather represents the daily situation of atmosphere like rainy day, sunny day etc. There might be any sudden changes in weather conditions of any specific place, even within one day.
Climate vs Weather
The obvious difference between weather and climate is the time duration for their measurement. Weather data is related to daily temperature and condition of atmosphere like rainy or sunny. On the contrary, climate is the average of long term atmospheric conditions related to any specific place. We can understand this thing by taking an example, if the current atmospheric condition of any particular place is a bright and shiny, we cannot claim its climate warm and dry. This condition may also come for a short time interval in a cool and humid climate. In this situation, we can only say that weather of that place is warm rather than its climate.
