What is the Difference between Transcription and Translation
There are many classic novels translated in hundreds of languages so that the great work of art can be appreciated by others as well. While some times there is found some written material that has been made easy for others to understand. The above two works are called translation and transcription. Both do different jobs but make the literature easy for others.
Transcription
Transcription is making the written work easy for the people to understand. This is actually to present a difficult writing in an easy way so that there should remain no confusion. In dictionary it means to record, to coy or dictation. Transcription does not involve two or more than two languages. Transcription does not involve any high level of accuracy in the work. It may involve the reading or listening to the recording.
Translation
Translation is the process of converting the written material from one language to another. The languages involved in translation may be two or more than two. The translation-work involves great level of accuracy and same level of expressions and emotions as are found in the original piece. This is done to ensure that the translator converts the literature with as accuracy as he can so that the overall subject and its effects remain the same on every reader. Translators are either bilingual or they study different languages for years to become master.
Transcription vs Translation
Transcription involves only one language while translation involves commonly two or more than two languages. Transcription makes the record or data easy to understand on the other hand translation involves the conversion of the material from one language to another. For transcription the person needs to be attentive while in translation the great deal of accuracy is involved, more than the transcriber needs. The expressions and emotions need to be translated into different languages as accurately as they actually are. The translators earn more than transcribers because of the nature of the work they both do.
