What is the Difference between Necessary Essential Important and Urgent
English language is a vast language which is filled up with countless words to describe almost anything and any situation. It is a fact that the majority of words have their own identity with diverse and clear meanings. However, this is also true that there are many such words in the English language which have almost similar meanings and can be used interchangeably to describe the similar situations or conditions. Necessary, Essential, Important and Urgent are some examples of these words which people frequently use in similar meanings. Let’s see the difference between these English language words.
Necessary
“Necessary” is the word which can be used as an adjective and a noun. When this word is used as an adjective, it describes some compulsory thing or obligatory situation. For example, the harness is the necessary part of a loom. On the other hand, when the word “Necessary” is used as a noun, it describes something requisite. For Example, harnesses are the necessaries of a loom.
Essential
The word “Essential” is a synonym of the word “Necessary”. The word “Essential” is used as an adjective. It is also used to indicate some compulsory thing or mandatory situation.
Important
Important is a word in English dictionary which is used for some valuable or substantial condition. Grammatically, this is also an adjective and used to highlight something or some matter. For example, this is a very important question for examination point of view.
Urgent
The word Urgent is also an adjective which is used to describe the situation in which quick or immediate action is required. Moreover, this word is used to insist or force a person for some important work and where rapid action is mandatory.
Necessary vs Essential vs Important vs Urgent
No doubt, all these words Necessary, Essential, Important and Urgent are ajective, but they are used in different situations. Necessary and essential are the synonym words which are used in some compulsory situation and to raise the importance of any matter. On the other hand, “Important” is the word which is used for some special thing or to show the value of anything. Anything which is of great value can be described as an Important thing like object, place, situation or even attitude. However, the word “Important” is also used as synonym word for Necessary or Essential on some occasions. Urget is also used for some special or important thing or matter, but when immediate action would also be required.
