What is the Difference between Behavior Moods Thoughts Feelings and Emotions
Human psychology is very difficult to understand. Behavior, moods, thoughts, feeling and emotions are some common terms which are used commonly. These terms are very important to understand human’s nature, although these terms are often used interchangeably but they are quite different from each other. Let try to explain them in a simple manner.
Behavior
Behavior refers to the acts of an individual, which he develops in a particular environment. Other individuals around him and other systems also play an important role in developing behavior. It is a particular way of response, against stimuli, which can be external or internal.
Moods
Mood is an emotional state, which lasts usually long. Moods are not triggered by a particular stimulus or event. Good mood and bad mood are two commonly used terms in this regard.
Thoughts
Thought is a mental activity, which depends of a person’s consciousness. We can also call it arrangement of ideas. Thought underlies all human interactions and activities.
Feeling
Feeling describes the physical sensation of touch, which could be experience of a person or his perception. Feelings affect moods and behavior.
Emotion
A complex psycho physiological experience of a person’s state of mind as it interacts with internal and external influences. Emotion is also associated with mood and personality.
Behavior vs Moods vs Thoughts vs Feelings vs Emotions
When activities of a person develop under particular environment, it is called behavior. On the other hand, mood is an emotional state, which last for few days or hours. Thought is a mental activity, which is related with the conscious of an individual. Feelings are associated with the physical touch of an entity or person, while emotions are psycho physiological experience. This shows that all these are different terms, which are associated with some kind of mental activity.
