What is the Difference between Cocoa Butter, Omega 3, Vitamin E and Fish Oil
We need different nutrients for the proper functioning and growth of our body. Some of them are macro nutrients like protein and iron, while some are micro nutrients and our body demands them in very minute quantity, but they are equally essential. Here we are discussing some important nutrients and the difference between them.
Cocoa butter
Cocoa butter is extracted from cocoa bean; it is a pure vegetable fat, which is edible too. Cocoa butter is also called as theobroma oil. It is pale yellow in color and usually used in chocolates, biscuits and other baked products. It contains flavor and aroma of chocolate.
Omega 3
Omega 3 is another type of fats, which are found in plant oils. These are poly saturated fatty acids, which are found in fish oil. Some plant oils like echium oil and flaxseed oil also contain Omega 3. They reduce the risk of cardiac arrest and high blood pressure.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is actually a group of fat soluble compounds. They are eight compounds, which includes tocopherols. Tocopherol is a common form of Vitamin E, which is found in Corn oil, Margarine and other dressings. This vitamin has many vital roles to play in human body, while its deficiency can cause Ataxia and impairment of immune response.
Fish Oil
Oils derived from the tissues of oily fish are called fish oil. It contains Omega 3, EPA, and DHA. Fish oil has many health benefits; most important one is reduction of inflammation. It is known to have positive effects in case of heart problems, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and depression.
Cocoa Butter vs Omega 3 vs Vitamin E vs Fish Oil
Cocoa Butter, Omega 3, Vitamin E and Fish Oil are very confusing terms due to almost similar use. However, Cocoa butter is a vegetable fat, extracted from cocoa beans while Omega 3 is fatty acid, found in fish and plant oils. Vitamin E is different from them; it is group of fat soluble compounds. Cocoa butter is used in bakery products and gives chocolate flavor to the product. Omega 3 and fish oil are useful in many health problems, particularly in heart problems.
