Yellow Rice
Yellow rice is in fact, not the name of any particular type of rice. This is the cooked form of rice that is famous in different countries with different names but has almost same recipe. In fact, yellow rice is sweet recipe that contains sugar as a necessary part.
Jasmine Rice
Jasmine Rice belongs to Thailand and famous for their long length, aroma and nutty flavor. It is a widely using variety of rice in traditional dishes of China and Thailand.
Basmati Rice
Basmati Rice ranks number one among all other varieties of rice due to its long-lasting aromatic smell, great taste and long length. This variety is mostly grown in Pakistan as well as in some areas of India.
Wild Rice
Wild Rice is a common name of an aquatic grass variety. Being having identical properties to common rice, it is also used as a food item in many parts of world especially northern USA and Southern Canada.
White Rice
White rice is not a variety of rice, but any type of rice from which layer of bran and germ has been completely removed and now the color of rice is completely white. It is easy to cook these white rice and they have longer shelf life.
Brown Rice
Brown Rice could be any type of rice that must contain its bran layer and that’s why full of nutrition and a healthy option. It has mild nutty flavor and chewy texture. It has less long shelf life.
Yellow vs Jasmine vs Basmati vs Wild vs White vs Brown Rice
Yellow rice is not a type, but recipe of rice that has sweet taste and contains many other sweet items. Similarly, white and brown rice are also not the names of any specific varieties of rice. Brown rice is a health option than white rice due to having bran layer, but not as delicious as white rice. People like to eat white rice more due to fluffy appearance and great taste even low in nutrition. On the other hand, jasmine and basmati rice are popular varieties that have aroma, great taste and longer length. However, quality of basmati rice is great as compared to jasmine both in terms of taste and long-lasting aromatic smell. Wild rice is a type of American grass that in some areas, eaten as an alternate of rice.
