What is the Difference between Brown and White Eggs

Eggs, as all we know, are a necessary part of our balanced diet. Nutritionally, eggs are enriched with protein in high percentage as well as vitamin B and minerals. Normally, a medium size egg has calories 50-80 and very low fat. All these things make eggs the essential part of our daily diet. Eggs are available in different colors like white, brown, yellow etc. Basically, this is the color of egg shells, not inner parts. However, the common colors of egg shells are white and brown. To clear the difference between these two egg colors, here is a brief detail.

Brown Eggs

Brown eggs are those, which we get from hens having red feathers and ear lobes as well. Technically, the shell of these eggs is also white; there is just an addition of brown colored layer over the shell. Normally, you can see these types of eggs at restaurants instead of white eggs. The reason is that it is very easy to find the part of such egg shells in food items especially in flour.

 White Eggs

Hens, having white feathers as well as white ear lobes, lay white eggs. It is an obvious thing, that this is the color of egg shells. Grocery centers prefer to keep white eggs, just because of their attractive skin color and shiny appearance after cleaning.

 Brown Eggs vs White Eggs

 Some people think that brown eggs have more nutritional value as compared to white ones. This perception is absolutely wrong. Nutritionally, there is no any difference between white and brown eggs. Both white and brown eggs have same protein, vitamin B and mineral values. Moreover, these eggs are same in terms of taste and calories. The only difference between brown and white eggs is the color of their egg shells, which is just because of hens having different breeds.
