What is the Difference between Fairy Tales, Trickster Tale, Fable and Parable
There are different types of stories, which we listen by our elders. Some of them are fictional and some are non-fictional. They contain different moral lessons and characters. Stories like fairy tales, trickster’s tale, fable and parable are different from each other in terms of nature. Many people have confusion about the difference between them. Fairy Tales
It is a special type of story, which consists of some folkeric characters like goblins, elves, fairies, trolls, giants and dwarves. There are some specific stories, which are fairy tails. They are different from legend.
Trickster Tale
Trickster is a term used for a story character that plays tricks or disobey the rules or normal behavior. A trickster may be a god, goddess, women or a spirit. It may be foolish or funny sometime.
Fable
It is a fictional story. A fable gives human characters to the non-living objects and delivers a moral lesson, which is described briefly at the end.
Parable
A parable is a type of brief story, which is based on some helpful principles. A parable usually illustrates one or more moral lessons. It consists of human characters.

The difference between fairy tale and trickster tale is, fairy tale is a type of story, which is based on some specific characters like fairies, giants, elves etc. while trickster is a character used in stories. It is a character having different natures. It may be funny or foolish. Difference between fable and parable is, a fable is a fictional story, which is based on non-living characters like plants, trees etc. They act in stories like a human character. While a parable is a story, which consists of human characters and delivers one or more moral lessons.
