What is the Difference between Resolution, Validity, Accuracy and Precision
In mathematics and in other fields we regularly need to prove certain things and for this purpose we use system likes accuracy and precision. To check the rightness of a logic we measure its precision and predicts that how much valid it is. Usually these words are taken in a same sense but in reality they all are different and have their own specific meaning and significance. Few information about these words and some prominent differences are given below which will help us to understand their differences.
Resolution
Resolution is rules used to prove theorems in a mathematical logic. It is the rules that are used to satisfy or prove formulae. It was introduced in mid of 1960’s.
Validity
The rightness or trueness of an argument or formula is measured by its validity. If a formula gives same result under all conditions it is said to be valid. All arguments are valid if they prove to be right under all conditions.
Accuracy
Measure of degree of closeness of a quantity to its quantity’s original or true value is known as accuracy. Accuracy of a measurement is that how close it is to the original or true value.
Precision
Precision is the measure of degree under which same things show same results under same conditions. Increase in sample size generally increase precision.
Resolution Vs Validity Vs Accuracy Vs Precision
Resolutions are rules according to which theorems are solved while validity is the measure of rightness of a fact or formula. Accuracy is the measurement of closeness of a value to its original value and precision deals with the degree that same things show similar results under unchanged conditions. Thus they all have their own specific, significant meanings which separates them from one another and give then a unique identity.
