What is the Difference between Hives Dermatitis Rosacea Eczema and Psoriasis
Skin infections or diseases are very common in every region of the world. there are many types of skin infections like Hives, Dermatitis, Rosacea, Eczema and Psoriasis. Almost in all these types, itchiness and redness of skin is a common symptom. That’s why, people got confusion about these skin infections. Here is a description about these skin infections along with differences among them.
Hives
It is an allergic reaction that appears on the skin in the form of swollen red welts, usually itchy. There could be several reasons behind appearance of hives upon the skin like insect bites, pollens, sun exposure, illness, medication or infection. No doubt, hives are uncomfortable, but in most cases hives are not painful or stressful for human beings.
Dermatitis
Dermatitis is skin disease that is appears in the form of inflammation of skin. The symptoms of dermatitis are red, itchy rashes with or without distinct boundary. There are different types of dermatitis like atopic, allergic contact, seborrhoeic, dyshidrotic dermatitis etc.
Rosacea
Rosacea is also inflammation of skin and it is a chronic skin disease. The signs of Rosacea are clearly visible upon the skin in the form of red welts that are swollen and looks like blood-vessels.
Eczema
Eczema is a chronic skin disease that appears in the form of itchy and scaly rashes. It is in fact, a long-term inflammation of skin that appears due to hypersensitivity reaction. In this case, skin becomes sensitive for bacterial infections and permanent scars could appear as well.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is the most common type of skin disease that appears in the form of skin irritation and redness. In this case, some silver-white patches along with thick red skin in surrounding appear. Severe itching and pain could be symptoms.
Hives vs Dermatitis vs Rosacea vs Eczema vs Psoriasis
No doubt, all these diseases are related to skin problems, however have some differences in causes, symptoms and treatments as well. In case of hives, itching and swelling of skin occur in the form of red welts. Dermatitis is an inflammatory disease with itchy and red rashes with some boundary around the infection. Rosacea infection appears in the form of red blood vessels. In case of Eczema, scales also appear along with itchy rashes. Psoriasis infection appears in the form of silver-white patches.
