What is the Difference between Hotel and Motel
Hotels and Motels are the places where people stay when they are not at their homes, or when they are not in their towns. They come and stay in these types of places to rest or enjoy, until the time to leave comes. Although these two words “Hotel and Motel” are used for the same purpose but still they not the same. They have critical differences by definition, along with some practical differences.
Hotel
Hotels are the places, which provide temporary accommodation at some cost including basic necessities like washroom and toilet facilities, bed, cupboard etc. These facilities also depend on the type of a hotel. If, it is a big hotel then it will include the air conditioning, dining, laundry, entertainment like swimming, television etc. Obviously, it will also charge more in terms of expenses. Similarly, hotels also have the facilities for the conferences, parties and functions as well. Hotels have many rooms and halls for these purposes, which are mostly numbered. In this way, guests can easily identify their rooms or required halls. Some hotels include the dining with lodging charges, while some charge separately.
Motel
Motels are the places, which are situated along with the highways and express ways. The people, who travel on the long routes, are normally the customers of these motels. Actually the word Motel is derived from the motorist’s hotel. In USA, when highway system was in development process, the concept of motel was evolved during that time. Motels are also hotels for those people, who not only travel on long routes, but require overnight accommodations to take some rest and then to continue their travel.
Hotel vs Motel
The one main difference between hotels and motels is that hotels are sometime very luxurious, versatile and extravagant but in comparison motels are very simple. Another difference is that, usually motels having large parking’s areas and their rooms are facing that parking area in contrast to hotels.
