What is the Difference between Marsupials Mammals Reptiles and Amphibians
When we look into animal world, we can see different types and classes of animals that can be categorized as marsupials, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. All these classes differ not only in terms of characteristics and behavior, but also with respect to body structure as well. Here are some key differences between these animals.
Marsupials
The class of mammals that is distinguished from other mammals in this way that they deliver comparatively immature young is called marsupials. This majority species of this mammal class are about to extent that are 334 in numbers and are 70% of all marsupials. The found in New Guinea and Australia. However, South America, Central America and North America are the regions of remaining marsupials species.
Mammals
Those vertebrate animals that breath in the air and can be distinguished by means of their body hairs, mammary glands and three middle ear bones are called mammals. Another special feature that is present in most of the mammals is their specialized teeth and sweet glands.
Reptiles
The animals that belong to Reptilia class and having special features like air-breathing, scales on skin, cold-blooded metabolism, tetra pods and shelled eggs are called reptiles. Only constrictor snakes and vipers are the reptiles that do not lay shelled eggs.
Amphibians
Another class of vertebrate animals that has unique features like water-breathing at junior level, cold-blooded metabolism and tetra pods are known as amphibians. The examples of amphibians are like caecilians, as-frogs and salamanders.
Marsupials vs Mammals vs Reptiles vs Amphibians
Birth in marsupials occurs much earlier in comparison to mammals and the almost helpless fetus journeys to the pouch and becomes attached to a teat for weeks or months depending on the species. The palate of marsupials is usually "fenestrated," that is, it contains large gaps or spaces in its bony surface. Amphibians live in water most of the time where as reptiles don't but other than that they are really close to being the same. Similarly, reptiles have hard scaly skin; amphibians have soft and slimy skin.
