What is the Difference between Urban, Rural and Suburban
There are many places, differentiated by the level of facilities, population, culture etc. They also differ by the languages and the living style of people. Most commonly, the places are differentiated by three terms, rural, urban and suburban. Most of the time, people confuse themselves while using an appropriate term for their place. Let’s have a look on the classifications and their meanings.
Urban
Urban refers to the city. An area, well developed with all the facilities of life is called an urban area. The major features of an urban area is the huge population, the better living standards, the access to basic necessities of life like good education, good places to shop, good places for outing and elite class life style.
Rural
Rural is the country side area. An area, which is essentially called a village is known as rural area. Rural areas are defined by their population, their developments, the facilities they offer to their residents and the basic necessities’ access by the population. Rural areas are mostly deprived of the good educational institutions, good hospitals etc.
Suburban
Suburban is the area in between the city and a village. Essentially, a town is called suburban. But this may not be an exact definition for suburban in many places. Suburban can be best described by its population, facilities and its development, which is better than the villages but not as good as in a city.
Urban vs Rural vs Suburban
Urban is the most developed area, the city with highest level of living standard. Suburban comes second and the rural takes the third place in this race. Urban, rural and suburban area can also be differentiated by the population they constitute. Cities are most populated and rural are the least populated places. Similarly, the facilities provided in urban areas are not present in rural areas while suburban areas have some of them at home while the others they can access in cities with fewer efforts then the people living in rural areas do.
