What is the Difference between Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Quality assurance and quality control are relatively new terms in the business. 2 or 3 decades ago, these terms were not known as much as in today’s business world. These terms are used interchangeably considering them referring to the same thing. Well this is really not what they mean. They define and justify two different issues in the duration of the production.
Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is the process based approach. It deals with during-the-process. It makes it sure that during the process of the goods production, the deliverables are of good quality i.e. if the deliverables have been produced defect-free. So this process takes care of the project from the beginning to have no or minimum errors in the work.
Quality Control
Quality control is the product based approach. It means that it deals with the product. It makes it sure that the product is up to the level of the quality promised and it is up to the requirements of the user. If some defect is found in the product or service after its testing, due action is taken to make it error free to fit into the frame desired.
Quality Assurance vs Quality Control
Quality assurance is the proactive step which is taken to perform due steps before the launching of product. This checks the process and ensures that every step goes to the desired results. The quality control makes it sure that whatever product has been manufactured is working fine and if there are any defects found, it corrects them. Therefore it is corrective step. Necessary documentation is done before the project phases start to ensure quality while product testing is done in quality controls. No doubt, both terms are related to delivery defect and error free final product, but both are different in their working. Therefore the terms cannot be used interchangeably.
