What is the Difference between Graduate and Undergraduate
The more a person is educated, the more he gets the exposure of the outer world. Though education solely is not responsible for a decent personality building, but it is the education that provides us confidence to interact with more and more people. As, to get to the higher level i.e. masters level, one has to be an under graduate first, but there is some confusion in the minds of people about under graduate and graduate level. Here is a crystal clear difference between these two terms.
Graduate
A graduate is a student who has the bachelor’s degree in hand and is pursuing his master’s degree. A graduate is 2 steps ahead in field of education. At this level, students are no more taught multiple subjects, but they choose the area of their interest in studies and then take subjects related to their specialization. In graduation, students are more independent when it comes to studies.
Under Graduate
An undergraduate is a person who possesses bachelor’s degree. Till bachelor’s, the basic concept of the students are made by teachers. At this level students can’t think independently because they don’t have in-depth idea of the subjects they study. Till this level there are number of subjects which students study. In under grade level, no research is involved and students are directed by their teachers to collect the information on certain topics, but this practice is limited to the basic level of information.
Graduate vs Under-Graduate
To be a graduate one has to be an under graduate first. In bachelor’s, students depends upon teachers more, while in master’s students rely less on teachers and do the extensive studies themselves. Till graduation, students are taught the basic subjects, which they are offered but when they reach to master’s level, they no more study is basics, they study the advance. It is still under-grade that students are not require to do research and get their own findings of the issue they are taught. It is masters, when students are required to prepare their own research work called “thesis”. So when in graduation level students get more idea and they are in a better position in studies as compared to under graduates.
