What is the Difference between Hid, Xenon, Halide, Halogen and Led Lights
Sun is the natural and biggest source of light for our globe. However, what happens when sun sets. Of course, we have artificial source of lights to lighten our nights. Have you think about that how many types of artificial light we have. This is the blog that will guide you about many types of artificial lights. Hid, Xenon, Halide, Halogen and Led Lights are the names of some artificial lights that are different from each other in many respects including their source. Here is the description and difference between Hid, Xenon, Halide, Halogen and Led Lights.
HID Lights
HID or High Intensity Discharge Light is evolved from electrical gas discharged lamps. The phenomenon of light generation from this source is such that tungsten electrodes that have been kept in fused alumina or quartz casing (having metal salts and gases) generates an electric arc. The type of medium could be Mercury-vapor, Metal-halide (MH), Ceramic MH, Sodium-vapor and Xenon.
Xenon Lights
Xenon light is produced from lamps in which xenon gas is used as a medium to produce plasma from the arc and ultimately light. The color of this light is white with as brighter glow as of sunlight. The common use of xenon light can be seen in search lights and in theaters. Today use of xenon lights in movie projects has become common.
Halide Lights
Halide light is the form of the light that is produced when the medium in which light arc sparks is the atmosphere and vaporized mercury. The intensity of halide light is 3-5 times more powerful than common incandescent light and double than mercury vapor light. The specialty of this halide light lamps is that, they are equipped with coating to filter out UV rays. The use of halide lights is very common for lightning purpose.
Halogen Lights
Halogen light is produced from common tungsten filament bulb in which any halogen gas is used as lightning medium is used. The halogen gas could be iodine or bromide. Halogen lights are incandescent lights and they are used in automobiles.
LED Lights
In LED light sources, light emitting diodes are used. LED lights are durable and having long life. However, these lights are costly than other lights. The use of these lights is common where colorful lights are required.
Hid vs Xenon vs Halide vs Halogen vs Led Lights
The key difference between Hid, Xenon, Halide, Halogen and Led Lights is the medium that is used in the closed casing made up fused quartz or alumina. The specialty of these HID Lights is lighting the wider area with high light intensity and energy level. Similarly, xenon lights are frequently used in theater lights that are not used as commonly as halide lights. On the other hand, halogen lights are used in automobiles, while use of LED lights as colorful lights is also common.
