What is the Difference between Winrunner, Silkperformer, Loadrunner and Qtp
There are two ways to test different applications, manual and automated. In case of manual testing we see the application from a user’s point of view. On the other hand for automated testing, we use different tools like winrunner, silkperformer, loadrunner and Qtp. All these terms are different from each other in many respect. Let’s try to find the difference between these tools and avoid confusion of resemblance.
Winrunner
This is a load testing tool, which operates at Graphical User Interface. We can record and play the actions of users. It records the response of user, as user has actually executed these actions. Usually, it is used in combination with other applications.

Winrunner, Silkperformer, Loadrunner and Qtp
Both Winrunner and QTP (QuickTest Professional) work on Graphical User Interface, but the difference is that Winrunner records the user actions and keeps it safe to excute in some difficulty. However, QTP is regression-based testing tool that ensures the optimal performance of software application. Loadrunner is an automated testing tool for a system behavior and performance. On the other hand, Silkperfornmer is checking tool of Web 2.0 application’s performance like Flash, Silverlight etc.
